Explorer Program

If you are a 14-20yr. old person interested in being a future law enforcement officer and being a part of the Desoto County’s Sheriff’s Department, then this is the place to be. You will get a chance to learn about the Mississippi State Laws, participate in the Firearms Training Program, be able to ride with a Sheriff’s Deputy in the Ride Along Program, take the law enforcement physical fitness test, learn how to march and wear a uniform, during the summer attend the Police Explorer Academy,participate in training exercises, and learn all about the different divisions that the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department has to offer:

The DeSoto County Sheriff's Department Explorers will meet twice a month and participate in special events and programs as they become available.
