The team’s purpose is to “Save Lives” by promoting educational programs to both the young and old on how to stay safe around all water sources. The unit is equipped with DUI Dry-Suits, full face AGA masks with under water communication systems to provide enhanced coordination between divers and shore support as well as a Dive trailer with an air cascade for on scene air refills.
Dive operations include recovery of evidence from crimes, drowning victims, and submerged vehicles. All members of the SAR Unit are trained with basic dive operations in order to assist the dive team with training and active call outs.
