New School Residency Ordinance
The DeSoto County Board of Supervisors and the DeSoto County School District are working together to crack down on people who use false information to get students into our high-achieving school system.
A new ordinance that went into effect June 19, 2023, makes it a misdemeanor to enroll a child in a school district where they don’t reside. It also penalizes anyone who aids in the misrepresentation of residency.
