Rental and Utilities Assistance for Tenants and Landlords

Rental and Utilities assistance is available for eligible Mississippians who have passed due rent or utility bills due to COVID-19. Landlords with tenants who haven't paid rent - are also eligible.

RAMP (Rental Assistance For Mississippians Program) For Renters and Landlords:

*RAMP can provide up to 15 months of rental and utility assistance to eligible renters.
*The funds will be paid directly to the landlord and service providers on behalf of tenants.

Eligibility: As defined by The U.S. Department of Treasury an “eligible household” is a renter household in which at least one or more individuals meet the following criteria:
• Qualifies for unemployment or has experienced a reduction in household income, incurred significant costs, or experienced a financial hardship due to COVID-19;
• Demonstrates a risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability; and
• Has a household income at or below 80% of area median income.
DeSoto County Income Limits:
1 Person – $38,500
2 Person – $44,000
3 Person – $49,500
4 Person – $54,950

*Documentation is required to prove eligibility requirements.

*Renters can apply just for utility assistance.

*Landlords can start the application process. Renters will get an email to fill out their portion of the application.
