Utility Assistance for Renters and Landlords

RAMP (Rental Assistance for Mississippians Program) for Renters and Landlords

Rental and Utilities assistance is available for eligible Mississippians who have are behind in rent and/or utility payments due to COVID-19. Landlords with tenants who haven't paid rent - are also eligible.

*RAMP can provide up to 15 months of rental and utility assistance to eligible renters.
*The funds will be paid directly to the landlord and service providers on behalf of tenants.
Applications are accepted online.

 Eligibility:  As defined by The U.S. Department of Treasury an “eligible household” is a renter household in which at least one or more individuals meet the following criteria:
• Qualifies for unemployment or has experienced a reduction in household income, incurred significant costs, or experienced a financial hardship due to COVID-19;
• Demonstrates a risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability; and
• Has a household income at or below 80% of area median income.
DeSoto County Income Limits:
1 Person – $38,500
2 Person – $44,000
3 Person – $49,500
4 Person – $54,950

*Documentation is required to prove eligibility requirements.
*Renters can apply just for utility assistance.
*Landlords can start the application process. Renters will get an email to fill out their portion of the application. Apply online

*People without access to the internet can call 1-888-725-0063 and request to be connected with an Application Access Specialist who will reach out directly to the applicant to provide assistance.
