Parks, Greenways, and Facilities

Situated right on the banks of the Mississippi River just north of Lake Cormorant, the 41 acre Hernando DeSoto Park, (formerly Bass Landing), is DeSoto County’s only public access to the River.

This park is a collaborative effort by DeSoto County Board of Supervisors, the Yazoo-Mississippi Delta Levee Board, and the Mississippi Wildlife Fisheries and Parks.

The park is open from sunrise to 10:00 PM.  Overnight use is allowed with a permit.  For more information on obtaining an after-hours permit, please call Environmental Services at 662-469-8152.
