Leaf, Limb and Non-Household Waste Collection

The Department of Road Management provides a free pick-up service for disposal of leaves, limbs, and other non-household waste items. This service is for residents in the unincorporated area of DeSoto County. Leaves must be bagged and limbs must be lengths no longer than 4 feet. Please contact the main office to request a pick-up at 662-469-8025. Please allow a response time of 7 to 10 business days for each request.

DeSoto County does not pick up for commercial tree services. They are responsible for hauling away trees they cut down.

The following is the list of acceptable and non-Acceptable items for curbside pickup in the unincorporated county:

Composting

  • Grass Clippings (must be bagged)
  • Leaves (must be bagged)
  • Limbs (Not over 4 feet Long)
  • Pine Needles (must be bagged)
  • Sawdust (must be bagged)
  • Trees (Not over 4 feet Long)

  • Hot Water Heaters
  • Refrigerators/Freezers (only if Freon has been removed)
