DeSoto County's Household Hazardous Waste Day is scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Landers Center's southeast parking lot: at Turman Dr. & Pepperchase Dr.
Environmental Services is offering a safe way for residents to dispose items classified as hazardous household waste. The collection event is a community service funded by the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality in cooperation with the DeSoto County Board of Supervisors.
Hazardous Household Waste is any unused or left-over portions of products containing toxic chemicals. Any product which is labeled CAUTION, POISONOUS, TOXIC, FLAMMABLE, or CORROSIVE should not be disposed of with regular household waste.

- Acids
- Aerosol Cans
- Chlorine Bleach
- Flammable Liquids
- Motor Oil
- Antifreeze
- Car Batteries
- Lighter Fluid
- All Paints
- Pesticides/Fungicides/Herbicides
- Poisons
- Pool Chemicals
Tire Recycling: Limit of 5 tires per citizen.
