This group put their hands where their hearts are. On December 16, 2013, members in Southaven worked together to plant shrubs, trees and beautify the DeSoto County Courthouse and Administration lawns.
“Plant A Tree” and “Good Neighbor” projects, which Modern Woodmen of America offers as Fraternal benefits to communities where our members live. The “Plant a Tree” project provides $250 for the planting of trees and the “Good Neighbor” project will provide $500 for the benches and other “hard-scape” features around the courthouse. "Planting trees is an important way to create a secure future for families, communities and the environment." says Wayne Averett local Modern Woodmen contact.
Coordinated by local Modern Woodmen members, chapters provide opportunities to take part in social activities and community service projects to meet local needs. Youth service clubs provide young Modern Woodmen members with opportunities to volunteer, be patriotic, learn new skills, make friends and have fun.
