DeSoto County Offices and Courts will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2014 pursuant to M.C.A. § 3-3-7 in observance of the birthdays of Robert E. Lee and Martin Luther King, Jr. Offices to be closed include the DeSoto County Courthouse, Administration Building, Department of Road Management, County Justice Court, the County Animal Shelter, and the County Tax Collector Office’s in Southaven and Olive Branch.
Garbage service will be affected during the Martin Luther King/Robert E. Lee Holiday in the Unincorporated Areas of DeSoto County. Waste Connections Inc. will not service on Monday, January 20, 2014. Service will be one day late for the remainder of the week. (Mon-Tues, Tues-Wed, Wed-Thurs, Thurs.-Fri, Fri.-Sat.)
County Curbside Rubbish and Debris Collection will be affected. The County will not pick up on Monday, January 20, 2014
The County Rubbish Pit at 5255 West Sandidge Road in Olive Branch will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2014. The pit will be open 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on all other regularly scheduled days. (Saturday winter hours thru March 1st, 2014 are 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
County law enforcement and other public safety and emergency services will not be affected by the holiday closings.
