Here is some helpful tips from the DeSoto County Soil & Water Conservation District:

  • Bring a 5 gallon bucket to put your trees in, you do not need a trailer. These are saplings and could be six inches to a couple feet tall. *Bucket not required, just makes it easier to carry seedlings.
  • Bring a Sharpie or borrow one to label your trees! **This is very important**
  • Arrive early. The line usually starts forming by 7:30am.
  • Please be patient and kind. Most of those helping with the event are awesome volunteers. They will do their best to get everyone in and out as quickly as possible.
  • Please research the list of trees to determine which ones you want.
  • Check out the free app called “Mississippi Trees” for help determining which trees are best for your yard.
