The Chancery Clerk of DeSoto County is the Custodian of Records. The Clerk’s office records all documents pertaining to real property (deeds, mortgages, assignments, releases, etc.), as well as all general instruments not necessarily related to deeds and mortgages (Power of Attorney and Health Care Directives, Federal Tax Liens, Lis Pendens, Military Discharges, Construction Liens, etc.).
The Chancery Clerk’s office has worked tirelessly to ensure that all public records are readily available to the public either on our website or on public terminals available in our office. Almost all records are available online, please contact us at (662)469-8397 if you have questions about how to use the website or find a record.
April 2020, the Clerk’s office added E-Recording as an option for our customers. This greatly reduced the turnaround time for documents and improved efficiency in the Clerk’s office.
Foreclosure Sale Notices
Foreclosure Sale notices are posted in the Courthouse by the Chancery Clerk’s office. They are also posted online for your convenience. The Chancery Clerk’s office is only required to post the notice. We do not have information about the sale. Please read the notice and contact the trustee for information about the sale.
