Area F is an asymmetrical area generally lying south of the county’s northern unincorporated boundary, north of Church Road (extended), east of the MS River and west of U.S. Hwy 61.

On November 1, 2022, there were 36 residential addresses in Area F that did not have access to high-speed internet.

On January 3, 2023, the DeSoto County Board of Supervisors awarded Uplink Internet an DeSoto County ARPA Broadband Deployment Grant to provide high-speed internet access to the 36 homes in Area F.

Scope of Work

  • Technology: Fixed Base Wireless
  • Speed: 100Mbps/100Mbps available to each location even at peak times.
  • Broadband receivers and transmitters will be attached to one or two towers in the area
  • Internet to home: 5ghz line of sight technology as well as CBRS near  line of sight technology

Financials: Cost to provide access to every address.  

Note: Costs may be lower depending tower placement & agreements and the number of addresses that sign up for service.

  • Total Cost for Broadband Deployment:      $152,056
  • DeSoto County ARPA Deployment Grant:  $130,456
  • Uplink Internet's Area F Investment:              $21,600

Pricing

Uplink Internet is required to provide access to internet speeds of at least 100Mbps/100Mbps.   Uplink offers various tiers of service.  It is up to each customer to determine which tier, if any, is appropriate to purchase.
