Area A: Lewisburg

Area A: boarders the Tate County lines in the south, Just north of I-269, generally Getwell Road to the west, and Pigeon Roost Creek to the east. It includes the Lewisburg and Cochrum communities.

Program

On November 1, 2022, there were 986 residential addresses in Area A that did not have access to high-speed internet.

On January 3, 2023, the DeSoto County Board of Supervisors awarded C Spire Internet an DeSoto County ARPA Broadband Deployment Grant to provide high-speed internet access to the 986 homes in Area A.

Scope of Work

Technology: Fiber Internet

Speed: At least 1 Gbps available to each location even at peak times. (Customers will be able to sign up for slower or faster internet if they want.)

Internet to home: All addresses on the Broadband Map will be able to receive fiber to the home.

Financials: Cost to provide access to every address.  

• Total Cost for Broadband Deployment in Areas A & B:    $4,648,068
• DeSoto County ARPA Deployment Grant:     $3,292,318
• C Spire's Area A & B Investment:      $1,355,750

A pending Grant from the MS BEAM office will reduce the cost to DeSoto County and C Spire.

Pricing

C Spire offers various speeds of service.  It is up to each customer to determine which speed, if any, is appropriate to purchase.
