Borders Swinnea Rd to the east, I-55 to the west. Pleasant Hill Rd to the south and Starlanding Rd to the north.

Program

On November 1, 2022, there were 90 residential addresses in Area B that did not have access to high-speed internet.

On January 3, 2023, the DeSoto County Board of Supervisors awarded C Spire Internet an DeSoto County ARPA Broadband Deployment Grant to provide high-speed internet access to the 90 homes in Area B.

Scope of Work

Technology: Fiber Internet

Speed: At least 1 Gbps available to each location even at peak times. (Customers will be able to sign up for slower or faster internet if they want.)

Internet to home: All addresses on the Broadband Map will be able to receive fiber to the home.

Financials: Cost to provide access to every address.  

  • Total Cost for Broadband Deployment in Area B:    $365,858
  • DeSoto County ARPA Deployment Grant:     $244,358
  • C Spire's Area B Investment:      $121,500

A pending Grant from the MS BEAM office will reduce the cost to DeSoto County and C Spire.

Pricing

C Spire offers various speeds of service.  It is up to each customer to determine which speed, if any, is appropriate to purchase.
